Warehouse Manager

Urgently looking for an experienced warehouse manager to work in a small team based in Manukau.
Your company:
Our client is a market leader in heavy industrial & construction equipment and spare parts are based in Australia and New Zealand. Having a small warehouse based in central Manukau are urgently in need of an experienced warehouse manager.

Purpose of this Role :

Reporting to the Company Director and responsible for the Warehouse Operations and Customer Service Departments, you will be the main point of contact for liaison within the company with key distributors, End Users and the internal Sales Team

The role will require excellent organisational and problem solving skills, you will be required to work autonomously and collaboratively with the sales team to provide quotations, receive and dispatch orders and organise the Service and Warehouse Departments

Job responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day operations of their Warehouse and meet agreed performance standards
  • Manage stock levels and inventories for the warehouse; including receipting of product shipments, undertaking regular stocktakes and providing updates on inventory levels as required
  • Manage relationships with key customers and all suppliers
  • Ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe manner and that all legislative requirements are met and minimise events that could lead to injury, loss or damage
  • Maintain a focus on continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve service provision

What you'll need to succeed
  • You must have minimum 4-6 years warehousing experience in a leadership role
  • Must be physically fit to work and contribute towards packing or lifting of boxes
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to work effectively across departments and/or business units and support the technical manager
  • Be able to drive a fork hoist and hold a valid fork hoist licence
  • Proficient computer skills to include internal stock management system and Microsoft Office applications
  • Be able to work in a small but efficient team of 3-4 people plus temp staff as and when required.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety standards are always maintained
  • Must be an effective and clear communicator both verbal and written
  • Must be a resident /citizen of New Zealand
  • Have your own transport
  • Be able to provide 2 professional references
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • No pervious or pending convictions
