Newly created position for a Project Administrator in the public sector - permanent, full time

This public sector organisation works to set the direction for New Zealand's continued sustainability and ensures we are on track for safeguarding our future. They are in need of a Project Administrator to work alongside Managers and Coordinators in one of their key industries to support projects and programmes. This is a newly-created position, with the purpose of assisting with administration and ensuring the day-to-day delivery of project tasks.

Your new role

You will be working closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to provide high quality, timely and proactive administrative support to boost the efficiency of projects.

Some of your responsibilities will be formatting documents, organising meetings, taking and circulating minutes, keeping project management systems up to date, monitoring the project team's shared in box and offering general support to the team.

It is important to maintain strong networks and connections within the wider industry, as collaboration will be key to the success of the projects.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will have previous experience in a project environment, but any proven success in a busy office support environment will be considered. You will have strong administrative experience, particularly along the lines of document management, and be confident in your organisational skills. Due to the need for strong professional connections across the Ministry, you will need excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
