Legal Counsel : 3-7 YRS PQE, Onehunga, broad range of corporate and commercial contract and compliance matters
Your new company
This global business consulting and services company provides group buying & business advisory services, specialising in family owned SMEs as well as supporting various charitable enterprises. They are seeking an experienced legal counsel to join their New Zealand operations to undertake a broad range of commercial, corporate and compliance legal matters.
Your new role
Report to the Head of Legal in Australia, this role supports the New Zealand business and it's members with a range of legal support for all areas of the business including new business activities and relationships with business partners and clients. A particular focus is on providing pragmatic commercial and legal advice to predominantly support the establishment and growth of the Australian and NZ business as well assist in global projects as and when required. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that commercial and legal interests are protected in contract negotiations.
This varied role will see you involved in with contractual matters, acquisitions and divestitures, employment matters, enforcement proceedings, leasing and property matters, intellectual property matters and liability claims, (instructing outside counsel as required)
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a qualified lawyer with 5-10 YRS PQE with significant experience gained in general corporate and commercial law. . You'll possess proven experience in contract reviewing, drafting and negotiation together with a good working knowledge of consumer law and employment law. Experience with developing and maintaining governance frameworks together with strong negotiation skills and dispute resolution are required.
You'll have strong judgement and outstanding analytical and contract drafting skills, strong commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to all work. The ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment managing multiple matters independently is critical. You'll be flexible, adaptable and be able to articulate information clearly whilst building solid relationships and managing expectations.
