This international company is a leading multi-category consumer goods organisation and operates within a highly regulated market where compliance and a complex and wide array of laws and regulations is core to its delivery with integrity in the marketplace. Due to growth and a period of transformation, they are seeking a 3-7 YRS PQE Legal Counsel to join their Australasian legal team in Auckland.
Your new role
Reporting to the NZ Head of Legal, you'll be providing legal advice and services to all parts of the business, supporting their compliance with legislation and supporting their internal governance and compliance requirements. As a pivotal part of the business, you'll be working with B2C and B2B marketing teams and online marketing and data retention/privacy matters, finance and planning teams, IT and digital, supply chain, HR, third party suppliers and external legal advisors. This varied role will you reviewing all marketing material, drafting supplier and customer contracts, pricing and product material, property and leasing contracts, reviewing HR policies/contracts and be involved in the updating and implementation of their contracts management system.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you be a qualified solicitor with 3-7 yrs PQE and possess a current NZ practicing certificate. You'll bring strong commercial legal advisory skills set including statutory interpretation capabilities, drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, together with compliance management capabilities. A background within FMCG would be advantageous.
You'll be able to work independently, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
