Our client, a contracting company is currently looking for an experienced H&S Officer specialized in Construction industry who would be looking after their 5 branches around Otago and Christchurch area.
Your new role
- You will be reporting to Business Compliance Manager
- You will be providing advices, support and assistance to managers, staff, H&S representatives and others
- You will promote a proactive, safety focused culture where staff participate, co-ordinate and co-operate with others in all Health & Safety aspects.
What you'll need to succeed

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a H&S officer role or similar within the construction industry

Strong knowledge of current trends and practices in health, safety and wellness and related legislation
- Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with managers and staff at all levels

Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative and judgment

Success with promoting change and improving Health and Safety performance

Strong reporting skills with high attention to detail

Ability to work in a team environment, proactive, with a strong work ethic

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on developing effective relationships
