Our client, a contracting company is currently looking for an experienced H&S Officer specialized in Construction industry who would be looking after their 5 branches around Otago and Christchurch area.

Your new role

• You will be reporting to Business Compliance Manager
• You will be providing advices, support and assistance to managers, staff, H&S representatives and others
• You will promote a proactive, safety focused culture where staff participate, co-ordinate and co-operate with others in all Health & Safety aspects.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a H&S officer role or similar within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of current trends and practices in health, safety and wellness and related legislation
• Ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with managers and staff at all levels
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative and judgment
• Success with promoting change and improving Health and Safety performance
• Strong reporting skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment, proactive, with a strong work ethic
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on developing effective relationships
