Your new company
This company is a nationwide engineering consultancy, covering civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineering with a focus on providing exceptional services to their clients. With a long-established presence in Nelson or Christchurch, this office is growing but has still retained a close-knit feel. Due to an increased workload, they are now looking for an Graduate Geotechnical Engineer and or Structural Engineer to join their team.
Your new role
Your role will involve working alongside geotechnical, civil & structural engineers on projects across the Tasman and Marlborough regions.
If you are a Geotechnical Engineer your involvement will vary, but will be predominantly focused on, undertaking geotechnical investigations, completing slope stability and liquefaction assessments, geological field work, foundation and earthworks designs along with ensuring technical work and design calculations are to a high standard.
If you are a structural engineer you will be a critical part of the structural engineering team, your role will be varied but will predominantly be focused on structural consulting engineering works including structural engineering design and documentation, construction monitoring, site inspections, investigation, testing and measuring and preparation of site inspection reports. Projects will be varied across the residential, commercial, and industrial sector.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will require
- Either a BSc in Geology or Bachelor of Civil Engineering
- Ideally a minimum of 1- 3 years of relevant experience within the NZ geotechnical or structural industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be based in Nelson, Christchurch or willing to relocate
- Drive to learn and succeed
