A fantastic leadership role at a best-in-class NZ SaaS company
Your new company
The company itself is a best-in-class NZ SaaS success story. With humble roots, but massive dreams, they’ve taken on the world & now sit as part of suite of applications driving productivity & efficiency for some of the biggest companies in the world. If you want to be part of somewhere that takes its product seriously, but not themselves, this is for you.
Whilst they have robust best practises, they are also still on a journey of Integration, being Data-driven & modernisation which means there is a lot of exciting work still be done.
This role can be 100% WFH, 100% office based or a mix of the two; and you be based anywhere in NZ
Your new role
The role itself is that of Engineering Manager – leading, coaching & supporting a team of 6-8 Developers, DevOps Engineers & Automation Engineers.
Your day to day is made up of planning, architecting, reviewing & mentoring; as well as good deal of stakeholder engagement – working alongside wider teams of Developers, Product & UX to ensure deliverables are on point & realistic. This is a people management role (hiring, performance, 121s) but you also need to be confident in these conversations, so you’ll need to come from a software development background.
The teams run under a Service Ownership model – this should excite you. All teams globally have responsibility & accountability for making decisions that best serve their services (as well as the tools & personnel)
The next couple of years involved a large program of work rearchitecting the core product & making it platform play that will hold them in good stead for the years ahead. This involves reenvisaging the whole app & ecosystem to ensure it is future-ready. You can be a part of the entire project end to end.
What you'll need to succeed
Its highly likely you love Software Development and, whilst (maybe) you aren’t at the coalface day to day, you still love a technical challenge. Technical Design & Architecture are things you are passionate about; reviewing PRs is bread & butter.
- Proven previous experience as a Senior Developer, Technical Lead, Dev Team Lead or Engineering Manager
- To want to manage people
- To be someone who is passionate about Agile, Data, CI/CD, Integration & Automation
- An effective communication style & love getting the best out of people
- Cloud based SaaS/Product experience (Tech stack is .Net & AWS)
What you'll get in return
In return you’ll get to part of a career defining journey in the world of NZ SaaS. You’ll embark on something that you’ll look back on in years’ time and have something to be truly proud of.
You’ll truly get to make your mark, be accountable & have something point to and say, “I was part of that”.
On top of that, you’ll get excellent pay, real (industry leading!) benefits & be part of a culture that puts its people first.
