They are a creative, collaborative, talented, social, down to earth and close-knit team. Athfield Architects is one office working across three locations, this role is based in the Wellington office situated in the hills of Khandallah.

Your new role
As Communications Specialist you will take the lead in the internal and external communications for the practice as well as information management for the office. In this standalone position you will be responsible for a variety of outputs including writing and coordinating RFP and tender submissions alongside general internal and client engagement. Other responsibilities include:
  • Managing the online presence – Web and social channels
  • Coordinating and producing a weekly internal newsletter
  • Liaising with external suppliers (photographers etc) for annual awards
  • Building on the current culture and really driving internal engagement within the practice
  • Looking over contracts for potential projects to find any fishhooks
  • Administrative tasks ranging from the routine to time critical and detail focused

What you'll need to succeed
Due to the creative nature of Athfield Architects, this position would be suited to someone with an affinity and / or background in Architecture, design or the building industry.
  • Experience writing RFP or tender submissions
  • Experience with basic publishing software such as InDesign to create documents
  • Be adept at listening, observing, interpreting, and communicating simply and clearly
  • The willingness to take on other responsibilities, including routine tasks, and contribute to the day-to-day operational aspects of the administration team
  • A keen eye for detail, strong writing and editing skills
  • The ability to manage your own time and work towards deadlines
